Émile Levassor
Émile Levassor (* 21. January 1843 in Marolles EN Hurepoix, Département Essonne), † 14. April 1897 in Paris) was a French automobile pioneer and running driver.
Émile Levassor worked in a sawmill, when he became acquainted with René Panhard and her decided to build automobiles. Their first car named Panhard & Levassor was finished placed 1890 and operated by an engine of the Daimler engine society.
As automobile developers they provided for some innovations. Among other things they combined the front engine with the rear propulsion as first.
Émile Levassor participated also on own vehicles in the first motorraces, it was fifth when running Paris Rouen 1894 and won a running Paris Bordeaux Paris 1895 on Panhard, however Paris Marseille Paris had an accident 1896 heavily when running. By the accident it became apathetic and appetiteless. It died at the accident sequences in on it-follow-ends spring, why it is regarded as the first death in the engine haven.
