Acceleration designates the fact that the body size of humans from generation increases to generation.

From medical view problematic is the acceleration in as much as the environment is not adjusted to this development. Generic term-oil become standards lead to ergonomic problems and in the consequence for example attitude damage.

As problematic the acceleration in questions of the ergonomic organization proves for example from motor vehicles. During the vehicle interpretation person sizes of the “5%-Frau” (only 5% of all women are smaller) up to the “95%-Mann” (only 5% of all men are larger) are usually considered. The acceleration lies between 1.4 mm with the 5%-Frau and 2.3 mm per year with the 95%-Mann. Their body length difference rose thereby from 331 mm in the year 1974 to 350 mm in the year 1995. This makes it ever more difficult to design vehicles in such a way that all humans can be accommodated equally favorably in the vehicle.

The extents of the acceleration by the example of the man become clear: if the 95%-Mann was large in the year 1975 still 184.1 cm, then it already was in the year 2000 about 191,0 cm.

Statistic collections, which one won in the context of examinations, show a dependence of the body size on social and regional origin. Therefore men from Northern Germany are larger than men in the south. The new generation of the social Oberschicht towers above that regarding the body size the bottom layer significantly.
