The car reached through is participation in London - Brighton - run of 1954 for the first time larger attention. Special characteristics are a reversal steering element, D.h. one turns to the right, if one wants to the left, and a transmission with pre and reverse gear.
To the of the same age, somewhat more well-known cars of the Siegfried Marcus in Technical museum Vienna exist several parallels. With both vehicles the year of manufacture is only approximately well-known. (to the Marcus car gives it at least primary historical sources, those the engine also 1888 and the chassis with 1889 or to date later leave.)
To long time applied to the mutton - car as year of construction 1886. Jacques Ickx sen. l'automobile "(1961) gives the year 1897 on in" Ainsi naquit. There last research (J. Ditlef cross-eyed into "automobiles Quarterly, 1987) the year 1888 as very probable to appear leave, this year of construction is now generally recognized.
The car represents for instance the level of development of the later 1880-er years in Germany, as of Carl Benz, God-dear Daimler and William May brook given.
