of the Alpnachersee is not an own lake separates a Seitenarm of the Vierwaldstättersees in the cantons Nid and Obwalden. It is something 3.5 km long and about 1.4 km broad. The south flank of the Pilatusmassivs borders on the north bank. With the Acheregg in Stansstad the Alpnachersee flows into the Vierwaldstättersee. Because of its southernmost Zipfel is the place Alpnachstad.
Also the Alpnachersee is a popular tie point for Windsurfer and Wakeboarder.
