Old historians
old historians are historians, who are occupied with the scientific study of the old cultures of the classical antique ones - in particular those of the antique Greeks and the Roman realm - and their contacts with her neighbours (Teuton , Celt , Perser , part ago , Etrusker etc.). Most old historians work during the period between approx. 1600 and/or. 800 v. Chr. and 600 n. Chr.
One was interested already for the Renaissance in antique history, but only the research of scholars such as Edward Gibbon and Barthold George Niebuhr justified the scientific study of the old persons history.
