Annam

Annam is a region in Southeast Asia, which itself over the majority of Viet Nam, between which Cochinchina in the south and Tonkin in the north extend historical regions. It is limited in the west of Kambodscha and Laos, in the east by the Südchinesichen sea. Die bedeutendste Stadt ist Huë, weitere wichtige Städte sind Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Quang Tri und Vinh.

Annam ist der alte chinesische Name für Vietnam (Hanzi 安南, Pinyin ānnán bedeutet „befriedeter Süden“, Annam entspricht der kantonesischen und der vietnamesischen Aussprache).
