Apt (city)

Apt is a town in France. It has (in the summer) 11,500 inhabitants and lies in the region Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur between the plateau of Vaucluse and the mountain course of the Luberon in the valley of the Calavon. Apt belongs to the section Vaucluse (84). Apt was a wealthy Roman colony (Apta Julia gegr. 150 v. CH.), a station at the via Domitia, the old Roman road from Milan to Arles.

The cathedral Ste Anne, into which tightness of the Rue of the Marchands gepfercht, is a venerable example provenzalischer church architecture 12. to 14. Century.
