the County lies in the southeast of Texas, at the gulf of Mexico and has a surface of 1.367 km ², about which 715 km ² water surface is. The County borders in the clockwise direction on the Countys: Calhoun County, San Patricio County and Refugio County.
history
Aransas County was formed for 1871 from parts of the Refugio County. It was designated after Rio Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu, a Spanish outguard in early Texas.
The first European, who saw this country, was probably Alonzo Álvarez de Pineda, who explored in the summer 1519 the coast of Texas along segelte and also the Aransas Bay.
