Archegonium
Archegonien (Plur. ; Sing. Archegonium) is a term from the Botanik and designates the female sex organs with Moosen, ferns and bear honing-lapping plants. The male sex organs are called Antheridien.
The Archegonien is usually flask-shaped with a einzellschichtigen outer hull. In the thickened part is oneonly central cell, which before the ripe one divides briefly into the Eizelle and a belly channel cell.
With the ripe one of the Archegoniums opens it by swelling the highest wall cells, thus the Cuticula is torn up. From the opening a channel passable for the Spermatozoide results toEizelle.
