Arnex sur Nyon is a political municipality in the district Nyon of the canton Waadt in Switzerland.

geography
Arnex sur Nyon lies approx. 2km air line of the French border on 454 m and. M., 3,5 km west the district principal place Nyon (air line). The village extends south the river Boiron de Nyon in the level between the Geneva lake and that law.
The surfaceonly straight 2,0 km ² the large Gemeindegebiets covers a section of the level at the law foot. In the north the Boiron flows in a Tälchen by the Gemeindegebiet. After southwest the municipality soil is also enough into the forest of Maillefer, in473 m and. M. the highest collection of Arnex sur Nyon is reached. From the municipality surface 1997 was allotted 10% to settlements, 14% to forest and wood and 76% to agriculture.

Bevölkerung
Mit 106 Einwohnern (Ende 2005) gehört Arnex-sur-Nyon zu den kleinsten Gemeinden des Kantons Waadt. From the inhabitants 61,8% are französischsprachig, 29,4% English-language and 1,5% spanischsprachig(Conditions 2000). The total population of Arnex sur Nyon amounted 1850 to 100 inhabitants, 1900 to 79 inhabitants. After 1980 only 62 inhabitants were counted, an increase in population with a duplication of the number of inhabitants began within 20 years. Since the Middle Agesthe place grew thus not substantially.
economics
Arnex sur Nyon was into the second half 20. Century a village mainly coined/shaped by the agriculture. Today the agriculture concentrates owing to the fruitful soils on the agriculture, at a slope south the village viticulture is operated. Further jobs are present in the service sector. In the last decades the village developed to a Wohngemeinde. Many employed person are way commuters, those particularly in Nyon and in Geneva work.

the first documentary mention of the place took place 1154 under the name Arnai, later appeared the way of writing Arnay. The place name probably decreases/goes back on latin the family name Arnius . From the first denomination to beginning 14. Century belonged the village to the noble ones of Arnex, which were probably Vasallen of the Mr. von Prangins. Also the Cistercian abbey Bonmontand the Mr. von Gingins had landed property in Arnex sur Nyon.1293 came the sovereignty over Arnex sur Nyon to the house Savoyen. Starting from 1432 the place was subordinate to the Priorat Ripaille.
With the conquest of the Waadt by Berne in the year 1536 cameArnex sur Nyon under the administration of the Vogtei Nyon. After the collapse of the Ancien régime belonged the village from 1798 to 1803 during the Helvetik to the canton Léman, which came up afterwards with the coming into force of the Mediationsverfassung in the canton Waadt. 1798 becameit the district Nyon assigned. Arnex sur Nyon does not possess own church, it belonged to the Pfarrei Crassier.
