AUDI 50

AUDI 50 (1974 to 1978) is a small car of AUDI.

The AUDI 50 (type 86) was introduced in the summer 1974. It represented the basis for the very successful Volkswagen Polo I of 1975 . It was produced with this on the same volume in the wolf citizen Volkswagen work. The VOLKSWAGEN Polo represented originally the savings version of the AUDI 50, the latters however for marketingstrategischen reasons of 1978 of the market was only taken. A planned Facelift, which should move the AUDI 50 optically more near to the AUDI 100 and the again-developed AUDI 80, was not no more realized. AUDI should serve the upper central and in the Volkswagen group the upper class. 1977 the notchback derivative Derby were placed to the further built Polo to the side, which was developed likewise in Ingolstadt with AUDI.

The AUDI 50 was produced in a number of items by 180.828 copies and it is today only few copies present.
