space planning

Balingen forms a central center within the region Neckar Alb, to its central range beside Balingeneven the cities and municipalities Dautmergen, Dormettingen, Dotternhausen, Geislingen, living at the Tann, advice living, rose field, Schömberg, Weilen under the gutters and rooms under the castle of the Zollernalbkreises belong.

Balingen was mentioned for the first time 863 as Baginga. In 12. Different noble ones appeared to century as local gentlemen of the small village. Probably there was also a castle. In 13. Century belonged the settlement of the counts von Zollern, who made the place the seat of the rule Schalksburg. 1255 were created the city Balingen, about200 m further river downward to the past settlement. With the municipal law the settlement increased rapidly and received a Ummauerung. 1403 arrived to Balingen by purchase at Württemberg, where the city became soon seat of an office. In 15. Century was several times pawned, so under the cityother one to count Hans von Werdenberg and to the Mr. von Bubenhofen. The Vögte and Obervögte responsible for the city resided in the former Zollernschloss. A number of several city fires destroyed Balingen in 17. to 19. Century, whereby the fire of 1809 was the largest. But becamethe city always again again developed.

Beginning 19. Century became Balingen seat of an upper office, which belonged to waiters starting from 1810 to the Landvogtei at the Neckar and starting from 1818 to the Black Forest circle. After conflagrations of 1724 and 1809 the city with regular sketch was again built. The inhabitantsoperated since that 19. Century mainly leotard weaving mills and were in the glove and the shoe production actively, others claimant also cattle trade.

1934 were transferred the upper office Balingen into the district Balingen, which became with the circle reform 1973 a component of the again formed Zollernalbkreises.

By the integration of different surrounding municipalitiesthe number of inhabitants Balingens 1973 exceeded the border of 20.000. Afterwards the city administration placed the request for collection to the large district town, which the federal state government of Baden-Wuerttemberg then with effect of the 1. January 1974 decided.

a different has

history of the quarters the Balinger of quartersHistory, however almost everything came over the counts von Zollern 1403 at Württemberg. Here they belonged to the office and/or. Upper office Balingen, from which 1934 the district Balingen came out. Only Rosswangen came only 1938 to the district Balingen, before belonged the place to the upper office Rottweil.

Dry cheeks became1064 as Durniwach mention for the first time. Starting from 1306 Mr. von Dürrwangen are mentioned. The sovereignty and local rule were divided already early and came to the Mr. von Zollern and from Bubenhofen. The legal successors of those of Bubenhofen were the Mr. von Stotzingen. These sold 1533 their partat Württemberg, to which the zollerische part of Dürrwangens already belonged since 1403.

Endingen was mentioned for the first time 793 as Eindinga. The original local gentlemen pulled already around 1250 after Rottweil. In 14. Century emerge Söller of Endingen, whose long gone off castle in the proximity of the church assumesbecomes.

Confining rubber strip became in the first half 12. Century as Ingislatt mentions for the first time. Since that 13. Century belonged the place to the rule Schalksburg and was subordinate thereby to the counts von Zollern.

Erzingen was mentioned for the first time 1225 as Arcingin. Probably the place from two settlements developedwith the names Erzingen and Böllingen. Until gentlemen are von Erzingen mentioned 1396, from these the Erzinger in Rottweil probably descends.

Frommern was mentioned for the first time 793 as Frumara. In 9. Century belonged the place to the Scherragrafschaft, the sovereignty was appropriate however at the latest since that for 13.Century with the rule Schalksburg and was subordinate thereby to the counts von Zollern.

Heselwangen was mentioned for the first time 793 as Hesiliuuane. There the place probably on Balinger Gemarkung lay already from the outset divided it the fate of the city. Until 1934 Heselwangen was an independent municipality inOffice and/or. Upper office Balingen and became then into the city Balingen in in common December.

East village was mentioned for the first time around 1200 as Osdorf. Upper the local gentlemen arrived the place at the dukes of Teck and at the beginning 14. Century at Württemberg.

Rosswangen was mentioned for the first time 1094 as Rossiwane.Over different smaller rule the place arrived at Mr. vonThierberg, then over from Bubenhofen at the manor the Dotternhausen. There it remained until 1805 as it under württembergische rule came. There hear the place first to the upper office Balingen, 1807 to the upper office Spaichingen and1842 to the upper office Rottweil, with which it remained until 1938.

Come to a hold-live to 1094 as Stokinhusen for the first time one mentioned. Over the Mr. von Winzeln the place came to the monastery pc. Gallen and finally to the counts von Zollern.

Capers one mentioned for the first time around 1130 as lines. There are however signs that this mention with the today's place in connection do not stand. The today's place and the no longer existing Niederhofen might be younger settlements. In 13. Century possibly gave it a castle and an aristocracy sex. In 14. Century belonged the placeto the rule Schalksburg of the counts von Zollern.

Weilstetten originally consisted of two settlements. Waldstetten became 793 as Walahstetti, which mentions neighbouring because home 838 for the first time as Wilon. Both places belonged to the Scherragrafschaft and arrived finally at the counts von Zollern. Both villages were to 1936 independentMunicipalities, until it under the name Weilstetten (of because home and forest stetten) to a municipality were combined.

Zillhausen was mentioned for the first time 793 as Zillinhusir. Probably there was a castle and a local aristocracy also here, but finally arrived the place at the rule Schalksburgand thus to the counts von Zollern.

Bronnhaupten was mentioned for the first time 1140 as Brunnohoubiton. The sovereignty was with the rule Kallenberg, with which the settlement arrived 1381 at Austria. In 15. Century was verödet the village. The goods were acquired by the manor Geislingen. The rule right1591 by the Truchsessen of forest castle were acquired. Starting from 1598 Bronnhaupten was temporary rule seat. In 17. Century acquired Württemberg all rights. Starting from 1703 it was Rentkammergut and was subordinate to the administration in Balingen. 1852 were integrated it after Erzingen.

the area thatto today's city Balingen at first Konstanz belonged and was the Archidiakonat “ante nemus sive nigrae silvae” subordinated to the diocese. Due to the affiliation to Württemberg in most quarters 1534 the reformation was inserted, so that these were predominantly Protestant over many centuries. Only Rosswangen remained catholic, because this place was not ritterschaftlich administered and the local gentlemen a reformation accomplished. In all Evangelist places there is therefore in each case an Evangelist church municipality and a usually old Evangelist church. The first Balinger church was mentioned 1255 and was geweiht our love woman. It was thoseParish church of the old village Balingen and remained first also the parish church of the city after their establishment. But it lay outside of the Stadtmauer. From the 1343 mentioned chapel pc. Nikolaus in the today's city centre became then in 15. /16. Century the today's town church builds and 1516 toParish church raised. Thus the past church was used as cemetery church. 1547 became Balingen seat of a Superintendentur, from which the church district Balingen came out later. The Superintendentur was first the Generalsuperintendentur (today Prälatur) Tübingen, late quake living, 1810 again Tübingen, 1823 Reutlingen, 1913 Ulm and since 1956 againReutlingen subordinates. Due to the strong growth of the municipality Balingen 20 became in. Century further Pfarreien establishes. Thus the old cemetery church became 1954 again parish church (church municipality Balingen east, to which today also the municipality members belong in Heselwangen) and in the populated area Schmiden 1968 a new community center developedwith a further Pfarrei. The three church municipalities form today the Evangelist total church municipality Balingen in the Dekanat Balingen of the Evangelist regional church in Württemberg. Also the Evangelist church municipalities in the quarters dry cheeks (with coming to a hold living), Endingen, confining rubber strip, Erzingen, Frommern, Heselwangen, east village, capers, Weilstetten and Zillhausen belong to the DekanatBalingen.

In 19. Also again catholics drew century after Balingen, later also into the other Evangelist quarters. 1899 knew itself the municipality its own church Hl. Spirit build, which was raised 1918 to the Pfarrei. To the church municipality Balingen belong also the catholics of the quarters confining rubber strip andEast village, but gives it in confining rubber strip since 1966 its own church to pc. Johannes Apostel. In Frommern 1965 became the church pc. Paulus builds, which was raised 1970 to the Pfarrei. To the there municipality also the catholics belong in Endingen, coming to a hold living, capers, Weilstetten and Zillhausen. The municipality membersfrom Erzingen Dotternhausen belong to the church municipality. The catholic church in Rosswangen was built 1948 including parts of the predecessor church of 1668, but is there already for 1275 a church mentioned, those the holy pc. Johannes Baptist and pc. Dionysius was geweiht. All catholic church municipalities inToday of the Dekanats Balingen of the diocese gang castle Stuttgart belongs to city Balingens to the Seelsorgeeinheit 3.
