Bandundu is a province of the democratic Republic of the Congo with the capital Bandundu.
Geografie
the province lies in the west of the country and borders in the north on the province Équateur, in the south on Angola, in the northwest on the Republic of the Congo, in the west on the province the Bas Congo and Kinshasa and in the east on the province Kasai Occidental.
history
the province resulted 1966 from the pool of the provinces Kwango, Kwilu and May Ndombe.
planned dissolution
with the Verabschiedung of a new condition in May 2005 is to be reorganized the Congo. Bandundu is to be divided in three new provinces:
- Kwango with the capital Kenge
- Kwilu with the capital Kikwit
- May Ndombe with the capital Inongo
