Building sample

as building sample one designates one from the theatre line to a certain production agreed upon date. Usually the building sample takes place at one time, on which stage designers and director already agreed on a scenery draft.

On the building sample the proportions and characteristics become like e.g. with as simple, economical a means as possible. used sinking, up and retiring possibilities etc. on the stage marks. This is to make it possible for the director and stage designer to check the stage draft for its serviceability before the draft in the theatre workshops is built and realized thus. in particular the line of sight characteristics of the draft can be examined in this way well.

The building sample date for the stage designer of special importance is contract-technically regarded: is usual in most theatres, the fee of the stage designer to one third each during signing of the agreement to out-pay with the building sample and with the premiere of a production.
