Bauto
Flavius Bauto († before 388) was Roman military of Frankish origin ín the second half 4. Century. Under Gratian Magister militum, he was beside bishop Ambrosius of Milan a substantial advisor of the emperor Valentinian II. In the year struck 383it as Roman army masters the Juthungen broken in after Rätien back. Bauto was consul of the yearly 385.
Bauto is to have been allegedly the father Arbogasts, the later Magister militum and murderer Valentinians (Frgm. Hist. Graec. IV 609). Its daughter Aelia Eudoxia married 395 emperors Arcadius.
