Term monopoly
Term monopoly (also generalized label name, generic term) is in Label name, verselbststaendigt itself and in that is used to describe an entire product kind. Prominent examples of product monopolies are for paper handkerchief, Adhesive tape (and/or TIXO in for portable music cartridge players, for nut Nougat cream, Dixi for toilet cabs, Hair dryer for a hair dryer, Selters for mineral waters or for cardboard packing.
In many countries the trademark protection expires, if a mark is used habitually for the Anpreisung of a product kind by commercial offerers. Many mark companies proceed therefore judicially against a such use of their marks, since otherwise also competitors would profit from their mark.
