Bernhard Russi
Bernhard Russi (* 20. August 1948 in other matte) is a Swiss ski running driver.
On Sunday, 15. February 1970 it became sensational in Gröden on the runway “Saslong “on the last day of the ski world championships with the starting number of 15 departure world champions, before Austrian Karl Cordin and the Australian Malcolm Milne. 1972 it won the gold medal in Sapporo in the same discipline and became olympia winner. Swiss celebrated a double victory: Second became Roland Collombin. Four years later, 1976 in Innsbruck, he rose again on the landing and won those silver medal, struck only from the projecting Austrian Franz clammy one.
After its school training he selected the occupation of the above ground construction draughtsman, where he terminated the training 1968. 1969 he became ski running driver and became finally 1977 ski professional. 1978 it terminated its active career. It is with Mari mountain-flows married, with which it has two children, Ian (* 1980) and Jennifer (* 1992).
After completion of its activity as a ski professional it was among other things active as technical advisors for the FIS and Völkl - skis. In Germany it became with the television broadcast mystery flight admits, in which together with Günther Jauch worked, which with these Fernsehshow still at the beginning its career. It conceived with several world championships and olympic plays the runways for the departure running and is besides as a co-commentator with Swiss television actively.
Russi became in Switzerland a sportsman of the yearly 1970 and 1972. Likewise it received the honours Skieur to 1972 d'Or and Etoile d'Or. it kept Award putting to 1999 to the Skiing.
