bright mountain is a municipality in Saale Orla circle in Thuringia. It belongs to the central administrative body Saale Rennsteig.

geography

History

the castle originally belonged to a set from safeguard fortresses the Saale(“At the Saale bright beach castles stand proudly and beautifully…”), Reichslehen was original and had then over the centuries different owners. In the year 1948 was senselessly blown up the castle designated in the vernacular as old lock. The ruins are opened at present by engaged citizens.
The municipality lived 19 since that. Century predominantly of the paper industry. The tradition of the paper trade continued by the ZPR (cellulose and paper factory Rosenthal) in bright stone (1,5km removed), where at the confluence of Selbitz and Saale run-rise begins.
The Blankenberger local's group of the Franconia forest association describeson a board, which is attached at the way to the Bastei, the lock so: Of place of the rubble mountain lying before the viewer the Blankenberger lock level until 1948. to the objects of interest of the municipality belongs the former paper factory bright mountain with a paper-making machine from the year 1903 (start-up took place in the year 1906). The machine appliesas the secondaryoldest paper-making machine in Germany.
