Brackel is a municipality in the district Harburg in Lower Saxony (Germany). It lies between Hanstedt and Hittfeld with own departure of the federal motorway 7. Brackel is a component of the integrated municipality Hanstedt. It existed a railway connection after book wood in the north heath and Lueneburg.
The number of inhabitants amounts to 1,651 including Thieshope with 1. Domicile, together with 2. Domicile 1.751.
The surface is 13.91 km ², for each km ² 118.7 inhabitants.
The Brackeler village coat of arms represents a Brake (cut equipment), there is assumed, the name “Brackel” comes along that in former times a large Brake stood in Brackel, to which the surrounding farmers came. This is however not certain.
