federation brook at the Hunsrück slate and castle road is a place of the convention community Rhaunen in the district Birkenfeld (Rhineland-Palatinate). A place with approximately 1000 inhabitants. The next larger cities are Idar Oberstein and Simmern. Federation brook is considered because of its approximately 400 million years old fossils of tank fish from the Devonian as fossil find place of world rank.
