the federal motorway 64 (abbreviation: BAB 64) - short form: Motorway 64 (abbreviation: A 64) - runs on the Moselhöhen from Trier to Luxembourg. It is only 14 kilometers long. The distance continued in Luxembourg is the autoroute 1 to Luxembourg (city).
A 64 is on whole length European route 44.
The former motorway border crossing Mesenich was removed to the reciprocal rest yard with gas station - on of Luxembourg side of the border, in order to secure itself the oil tax advantages of Luxembourg. It is a popular goal of German „tank tourists “
