the federal motorway 687 (abbreviation: BAB 687) - short form: Motorway 687 (abbreviation: A 687) began at the motorway connection/cross stick city at the Main at A 3. Afterwards it led around upper castle at the Main in large elbow west around Aschaffenburg and ran then linksmainisch until. There the vierspurige development and it ended existed connection to B 469. This road continued to run after spleen mountain. The connection spleen mountain improved A 687 - Frankfurt/Main. Planned a motorway interchange was original in the range of the connection point stick city south. Here an extension of A 680 never built would have ended.
In the eighties the motorway was gradated to the federal highway and is now part of B 469. The sign-posting was completely exchanged. The motorway-moderate equipment with Seitenstreifen remained.
At present the development of the vierspurigen motorway is to the south under way, so that almost the Miltenberger city is reached.
