Castle Zvíkov
the castle Zvíkov lies in the Okres Písek, Tschechien.
On the peninsula with the confluence of the rivers to Moldau and Otava there were fastened settlements already in the early Middle Ages. 1234 ago king put Wenzel I. the foundation-stone for the building of the castle. Particularly under Přemysl Ottokar II. the castle received to a four-bladed palace to the already delighted tower. To end 13. Century followed military walls and Basteien. After 1646 the castle was abandoned and disintegrated. Beginning 19. Century began one however with the restoration, in 20. Century was continued.
