Collegium musicum

Collegium Musicum is also the name of a slovakischen Pop group, sees Collegium Musicum (volume).

Collegium musicum was of 16. up to 18. Century particularly in the German-speaking countries common and in 20. Century rediscovered name for a private federation of music lovers.

Frequently the members originated from civil or student surrounding field and made music together, however Collegia could permit musica also listeners and took up isolate professional musicians.

In 16. Collegia were predominantly coined/shaped century musica of vowel music; they had their bloom time however in 17. and 18. Century, where they were predominantly occupied with instrumentalen works.
First public concerts of a Collegium musicum took place 1660 in Hamburg under the direction of Matthias's waking man . That became later 1701 of George Philipp Telemann in Leipzig created and among other things Collegium resumed from Johann Sebastian brook musicum in the public admits.

In 19. Century lost itself the designation „Collegium musicum “, until again a combination of this name created 1908 Hugo Riemann and so that an impact for the popularity to this designation gave.
