Corps Saxonia Jena
the Corps Saxonia Jena is a Corps (student connection) in the Kösener senior convention federation (KSCV), the oldest roof federation of German student connections. The Corps is obligation-striking and color-basic. It unites students and former students of the Friedrich Schiller university Jena as well as former students of the Rheini Friedrich William university Bonn. The Corpsmitglieder is called “Jenenser Saxonia”.
Couleur
Saxonia has the colors “dark-blue-light blue-white from downside” with silver Perkussion. In addition a blue cap is carried.
The Saxonia foxes carry a fox volume in “light blue-white-light blue”.
The Wahlspruch reads “Virtuti more semper corona!” (German: “The virtue always the crown! ”), the coat of arms saying “honour, sense of glad, agreement - Neminem time, neminem laede!” (2. Part German: “Be afraid nobody, hurt nobody! ”).
history
the Corps Saxonia became under the name “homeland association Altenburgia on the fir” to 13. February 1805 of students at the Johann Friedrichs university in Jena based (today Friedrich Schiller university). The traditions continue to go back however still. Already in the year 1768 a “homeland association Saxonia” is mentioned in the sources. For the year 1792 the blue-white colors for the Jenenser Saxonia are occupied. Other Sachsencorps transferred, partially to variations, the blue-blue-white colour combination the model of Saxonia Jena following, so as can be prove the Corps Saxonia Leipzig, Saxonia resounds and to Saxonia Goettingen. In the everyday life life and in the adjustment for the Jenenser Sachsencorps remained coining/shaping until today the influence old student medals of the aiming at special co-operation. Due to its special history the book “the German Corps” outstanding as standard work deals in detail from Fabricius with Saxonia Jena.
To 13. June 1808 takes place itself renaming in “homeland association Saxonia”, to 15. June 1815 dissolves, in order to come up first after some resistance local obligation of the time following in the Burschenschaft (Urburschenschaft ), developing again in Jena, however no long life had granted and today in the three Burschenschaften Teutonia Jena, Germania Jena and Arminia Jena continues. To 7. June 1820 rekonstituierte itself the “Corps Saxonia”.
Like all Jenenser Corps is Saxonia initial member of the Kösener of senior convention federation (KSCV). The establishment of the federation took place in the year 1848 on the market place in Jena.
In the year 1936 Saxonia under National Socialist pressure had to dissolve, existed however under the name to “comrade shank hall-continues to hit a corner” to 1945 .
After the war the Saxonia Jena with the Corps Saxonia Bonn formed to 13. February 1951 a common Corpsburschen convention (CC) under the name “Corps Saxonia Jena et Bonn to Bonn”. To 14. December 1991 was decided the separation of both Corps, Saxonia Jena returned 1993 to Jena. It resided since center of the 90's the “Saxonia castle”, that 1898 in the neoromantischen style established connecting house.
Due to the structure of its conditions to other Corps the Corps Saxonia is counted to the “red circle” within the KSCV.
A famous member of the Corps Saxonia Jena was Alfreds Brehm, natural scientist and writer, author of Brehms animal life.
