Courrières
Courrières is a town in the north French Département Pas de Calais close of the city Lens. The city has today about 11,000 inhabitants. The twin city of Courrières is Weissenthurm, a town on the Rhine close Koblenz.
The pit misfortune in the mine of Courrières in the year 1906 demanded 1,099 human lives.
