Dömitz is a German city in the southwest Mecklenburgs in the district Ludwig desire. It is administrative seat of the office Dömitz Malliss, to which further six municipalities belong.

Geografie

the city Dömitz at the Elbe is the southernmost place in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and lies in the nature park Mecklenburgian Elbe valley, in the proximity of the Dreiländerecks of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Brandenburg as well as tosouthern edge of the Griesen area. Dömitz is the terminator point of the Müritz Elde water way, which connects the Elbe with the upper Havel.

local parts

to 12. April 2004 the up to then independent municipalities Heidhof, Polz and Rüterberg were integrated into the city Dömitz. To Dömitz belong further the local parts large and small to Schmölen.

history
