The thing from another world (1951)

a scientist team discovers nearby its research station in the arctic a spaceship. The ship fell and in the ice froze. With the attempt to free-blow up it the spaceship is heavily damaged. But the unknown pilot seems to be intact in his ice tank. One brings the nature including the ice block, in which it froze, into the station, where it thaws out soon and turns out as deadly danger for the inhabitants of the basis. After it killed humans, the thing from the station flees and results the carriage dogs. At the place of the Gemetzels one finds an arm of the monster, which one of the dogs during the fight abgebissen has. Fast the scientists find out, which concerns it with the strange organism a plant, which nourishes itself of blood, because the hand of the stranger is full seeds. The thing provides admission to the greenhouse of the station and cultivates its seed, in order to increase. Military create it however to destroy the seed but the thing strikes back. It is inflamed a fight on lives and death, when Nikki of nor oil has the saving idea: In order to rob from vegetable the vitality, one must cook it (sic!). the thing from another world belongs to criticisms undoubted to the most exciting Science Fiction films, which were ever turned. If one knows however the underlying novel of John Campbell jr., one hardly believes which one sees there. History was enormously changed after Campbells own words “”, which is said gentle a Untertreibung. Excitingly and sometimes gruselig, pushes however nevertheless up, which take military the thing here into the hand, while the scientists are rather unfit for problem solution. Then a Mrs. the saving idea has, is nicely meant, but since probably women themselves think in an arctic research station only of one - cook… There then also again everything is at his right place, Mrs. to the stove, scientist into its ivory tower and at foremost front the men of the act, speaks the military. If one leaves all political and social propaganda, which the film brings rather so beside, away, nevertheless a film remains, which maintains very well.
