Kohlenmunk Peter inherit the Köhlerei of its father in the Black Forest, are however dissatisfied with the dirty, arduous and little respected work. Peter wishes itself to dance first better than the dance soil king and have in the pub always as much to money in the bags as the rich Ezechiel. The glass male makes Peter's stupid desires furious, and it threatens to refuse the third desire to it, if it is not intelligent. Peter wishes itself as the second a glasswork, however out to wish itself as the third desire the understanding to it a glasswork strikes the suggestion of the glass male to lead correctly. Peter wants to rather have a horse with cars. The glass male turns out in such a way in rises up that it does not meet the third desire to it.
The two desires are met Peter, and like that is it the luck hold. It has the most beautiful glasswork in the Black Forest, dances better than all different and its bags is always with as much money filled when playing in the pub as from the Ezechiel. On the next day Peter is loaded and begins a voyage round the world. Soon it must state that it can enjoy about nothing more that it cannot laugh and cry any longer, no love feels and nothing is more beautiful. Peter travels with much money by country; but it bores itself and can enjoy about nothing more. It returns to the Black Forest and goes to the dutchman Michel, in order to return its heart. Michel refuses the desire with the reference that he receives his heart after death again. But it gives it Peter still more money and guesses/advises to marry. Peter builds an enormous house in the Black Forest and works from now on as dealer and a money lender to usurious interests. Cannot return arms everything to it, it very bad and hunts it. It gives against-willingly Sundays a small coin to its ill nut/mother. In its beautiful house she may not live. Now it goes on Brautschau and continues around the hand of the beautiful Holzhauerstochter Lisbeth. They marry, but Lisbeth feels soon unfortunate, because she may not help the arms, despite its immense fortune. Peter is only in a bad mood and stingy however forbids Lisbeth everything, why it is considered still stingier. Lisbeth suffers and wishes themselves Peter to have never married.
As an old, small man goes past and around a sip water asks, offers to it Lisbeth bread and water from Peter's cup. The man thanks you and means that such a good heart will be recompenced. In the moment Peter returns. Except itself before rage it hits with the whip on Lisbeth, which is dead immediately. When Peter sees his dead wife, it repents that immediately, but the old man transforms into the glass male and answers that Peter the most beautiful flower of the black forest zertreten has. Peter gives the debt, which on it into a monster transforms to the glass man, because Peter insulted him. Only in order Peter's sake dead woman, who helped him, it gives to consider Peter eight days time, its life. Peter sleeps badly and hears voices, which say to him, it is a “warmer heart to provide”. The people deceives he, by saying, his wife travelled. Finally it goes into the forest and calls the glass male, since it has still another last desire freely. It wants to be heart back-have, but can not help the treasure houses it, tells it however a trick. Peter goes to the third time to the dutchman Michel and states, this has it betrogen, it it no stone heart used. Michel wants to prove and begins it “to the sample” the heart to it again. Thereupon Peter takes a glass cross of the glass male and begins to pray, whereupon the dutchman Michel shrinks and on the soil winds oneself like a worm. Peter runs crying back to the glass male. After one year Lisbeth gets a child. Peter goes calling into the forest around treasure houses, because he wants him as a godfather, but he does not appear. However it some Tannenzapfen fall before the feet, which Peter puts as memory into the trouser pockets. The nut/mother finds at home instead of the Tannenzapfen of loud money roles in the bags - the godfather gift for Peter and Lisbeths son.
