Declination (astronomy)
the declination is used in the astronomy as a coordinate with the position indication of celestial objects. It corresponds to the projection of the parallels of latitude of the earth on (imaginary) a sky ball. The declination gives thus the angle distance of an object of the celestial equatoron. Values north the equator are positively, values south of it negative. As symbol in the astronomy the letter is used δ.
The declination is connected closely with the astronomical height, is however independent of observation place and - time. At the north pole is the declination identically to the maximum height.
