Dichtelbach is a local municipality in the Rhine Hunsrück circle in Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) and is because of the old Roman road, which led from Trier to Bacharach. The place derives its name from the “Dichtelbach”, which between Rheinböllen and Rheinböllerhütte flows into the gulden brook.

Actually the name is derived from Dadilebach, which means as much as fire brook. Fire brook was called it due to the many Holzkohlemeiler at the forest.
