The youth
the youth - resident of Munich illustrated weekly revue for art and life was an art and a literature magazine created by George Hirth, which appeared from 1896 to 1940 in Munich. After death Hirths became Franz beautiful-Bernese the publisher.
The youth was the name giver of the art trend art nouveau, which shows, how important the booklet for art and literature of the turn of the century was. However contents and adjustment of the youth cannot art nouveau be reduced also in its wedding to the label „“. Beside modern illustrations and ornamentations also sow-Irish and critical texts played large role in the booklet.
Starting from the First World War the youth became increasing a German national and Bavarian to heimattümelnden newspaper. That changed only again starting from center of the 1920er years, as itself the booklet for the artists of the recent generation opened again and texts of briefly Tucholsky, Erich Kästner and designs of George Grosz printed.
After 1933 the booklet of the völkischen line of the national socialists adapted . It was adjusted nevertheless 1940.
