Dieter Senghaas
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.C. Dieter Senghaas (* 27. August 1940 in Geislingen at the steige) is a German sociologist and Peace researcher.
After the study of politics and social sciences, Philosophy and history from 1960 to 1967, became it the Dr. phil. attained a doctorate. The thesis Criticism of the deterrence concerns itself with the field of activity, since then its scientific activity coins/shapes: the peace research. To the study an activity closed as a wissenschaflticher assistant at that until 1968 University of Frankfurt and then until 1970 a research stay in the USA, among other things Karl W. German at that Harvard University on.
From 1972 to 1978 Senghaas was research group leader at that Hessian donation for peace and conflict research and from 1972 to 1978 professor at the University of Frankfurt.
Since 1978 he is a professor at that University of Bremen and there at Institut for intercultural and international studies actively.
