Directors Guild OF America

the Directors Guild OF America (DGA) is the combination of the US-American directors.

It represents the rights and interests from over 12.700 directors the film -, theatres -, advertising and television industry. The DGA developed 1960 from the union the screen Directors Guild (based 1936) and the radios and Television Directors Guild (gegr. 1947). It has its head office in Hollywood. Acting president is since 2003 a director Michael Apted.

The DGA lends annually since 1948 (justified by the screen Actors Guild) the Directors Guild OF America Award in several categories.
