Dynasty
dynasty (v. griech.: dynástes = ruler) a sex succession of rulers designates and their families, and today for extended families is also generally used (“family dynasty”). Originally one describes thereby a ruler sex, that it succeeded over a longerPeriod by power -, economics - and marriage politics, diplomacy and plots to finally guarantee as well as a successful succession a continuous occupation of the highest their country.
The term turned out however in the modern colloquial language in the last yearsopposite the Anglizismus clan (also “family clan”) something in the Hintertreffen.
During the naming of a dynasty one refers usually to the surname (Wasa), the master seat (Hohenzollern) or the founder of a ruler sex by its names (Karolinger).
During the designation one speaks either of the house Bourbon, there in the German historiography the name house regulation for the political will of a ruler in the Middle Ages (Ottonen compares) succeeded, or in the Plural as Bourbonen. Both termsare synonymously used. As a rule one speaks of a dynasty only starting from a number of three successively following kings and/or queens.
