EHC Basel

the EHC Basel is a Swiss ice hockey club from Basel. It was created to 14. October 1932; it came out from the ice hockey section sports club of the red white , which 1931 were created. So far the EHC could win still no Meistertitel, became however 1946 and 1952 vice-Swiss masters and was 1956, 2003 and 2005 B-masters.

to 20. Octobers 1930 fuse the two associations to the EHC Basel red white. The first years were however cumbersome: 1935 gave it mass withdrawals and the new ice hockey club to Basel (NEHCB) were based. This was however already dissolved 1939 again and backfused with the EHC Basel red white. 1941 ascended the EHC into the national league A and 1946 became it second in the championship. 1949 could defeat the EHC as a first team at all the HC Davos owing to a 2:1 - success in the national league.

Since the 1960er - years adjusted themselves successes and the EHC continued to slip ever into the lower play class: Only the descent into the national league B 1963, then the descent into the 1. League, the third-highest play class, 1967. The Tiefpunkt took place 1977 with the descent into the 2. League. 1988 are saved the EHC by donors from the bankruptcy; 1990 fused the association with the EHC Kleinhüningen to the EHC Basel KLH Dragons. When the EHC Basel AG created the first crew, and now as EHC Basel, were called the juniors and new generation teams played always still EHC Basel KLH Dragons.

Between 1977 and 1999 the EHC oscillated between 1. and 2. League, until 2000 the reclimb takes place into the national league B at the green table. 2002 the new ice-resounds inaugurated. 2003 could be celebrated with the profit of the B-championship the direct graduation into the national league A; at the same time the club in EHC Basel was renamed. In the season 03/04 the EHC plays a miserable qualification; it could increase in the Relegationsspielen enormously, however the descent no more was not to be prevented. With the obligation of Kent Ruhnke, former master coach sports club Berne, underlined the EHC Basel his ambitions on the imminent reclimb. The season extremely successfully passed: Basel became B-master and defeated in the league qualification the HC Lausanne in the Best-of-7-Serie with 4:3 and ascended thus again into the national league A . With purposeful reinforcement one prepared for the new season. The first foreigner position occupies again the Swede Nikolas meadow, which came from the Nati b finalist HC Sierre.
