ESIB
ESIB - The national union OF Students in Europe is the roof federation European studying shanks with 50 members from 37 countries and represents over these more than 10 million students and students on European level. The principal purpose of ESIB is the keeping of the social, education-technical and cultural interests of the students and students and their agency in relation to international/totalEuropean organs and institutions like the Council of Europe, the European union or UNESCO.
Apart from the protection of interests ESIB offers an information and a cross-linking platform for its members and organizes regularly seminars and Workshops as training for studying representatives.
The abbreviation “ESIB” decreases/goes back to the establishment history of the organization, which functioned in the eighties-years first as “Western European student information office” (WESIB) and after the collapse of the Soviet Union as “European student information office” (ESIB). With the increase of the politico-educational meaning of the European level the member organizations decided however 1993 to use ESIB not only as information platform but as a controlling body. That well well-known contractions ESIB was maintained, but with the additive “The national union OF students” provide.
