Erfurter union parliament
the Erfurter union parliament was one of 20. March up to 29. April 1850 meeting meeting of parliamentarians, who wanted to reach a condition for a smallGerman realm under Prussian guidance after the failure of the Frankfurt national assembly. The Erfurter parliament was the attempt of the union politics conceived by Joseph of Radowitz to achieve with reference to the Frankfurt national assembly a smallGerman realm agreement “from above”.
The union parliament consisted comparable community center, as well as the state house, which were fed by the states of the German federation participating in the union of two chambers , that the national assembly.
Mainly the participant of the Gothaer Nachparlaments , under, it consisting of representatives of the Casino parliamentary group , Friedrich Daniel Bassermann, Gottfried Ludolf Camphausen, Friedrich Christoph Dahlmann, Heinrich of Gagern, Karl Mathy and Eduard Simson got involved in the union parliament, in order to reach after the failure of the Paulskirchenverfassung and the March revolution nevertheless still another condition work for Germany.
Both chambers of the union parliament were correct from Radowitz following the Paulskirchenverfasung conceived, however in substantial points monarchischer arranged draft against the voices of the conservative ones, to which among other things Otto von Bismarck and Ernst Ludwig von Gerlach belonged, too.
The conversion of the condition failed however because of the missing readiness of the states of the three-king alliance to actually convert the Erfurter condition and to finally recognize thus the Prussian hegemony. This attitude was produced in particular also with Austrian pressure against the union politics.
The union parliament ended thus without result. In the Olmützer preliminary draft forced Austria Prussia in November 1850 to the task of the union politics.
