Seriousness Happel stadium
the seriousness Happel stadium (until 1992 the official name was Praterstadion or Viennese stadium) in Vienna is the largest stadium of Austria. In it no association plays (except UEFA Cup , UEFA champions League and some Derbys ) take place, but excluding Heimspiele of the Austrian national soccer team. As only 5-Sterne-Stadion it has less than 50,000 seats (49.825), but it on the occasion of the football European championship 2008, whose final will take place here, on 53.008 places is developed. In the context of the change it received in the summer 2005 a lawn heating and becomes up to the EM 2008 also to underground - connection receive. history
the stadium became from 1929 to 1931 after plans of the Tübinger an architect Otto Ernst Schweizer on the occasion of the 2. Worker Olympiad builds. It was considered at that time as the most modern stadium of Europe, in particular because of its short emptying time of only 7-8 minutes. Initially it had a total capacity of about 60,000 persons, later after extensions of Theodor Schöll even 92,708 persons, which was again reduced however 1965.
