Geografie
The medium-sized town lies in a quite extensive river valley of the Werra northwest the Schlierbachswaldes and east the high Meissners.
The next hessian large city is Kassel (approx. 45 km northwest); in Lower Saxony is this Goettingen (approx. 40 km northern), approx. east the town Wanfried is appropriate for 10 km. already in the Middle Ages lived Jews in the city (first proof 1301).
