Ethnie
Ethnie or ethnical group, in former times also Ethnos (of griech.: ἔθνος ethnos = people), a trunk or a people designates.

Ethnologen understanding by this term a group about persons, who the same language's group, culture or religion to belong. A Ethnie defines itself furthermore even as unit and/or. accept their members a descent of common ancestors.

The term Ethnie is used in more recent time also usually than synonym for people, trunk, or nationality. However the term should not be used in connection with nation. Often Ethnie already designates a kind generic term of a higher order of a group. Examples for it are the language's groups of the Indogermanen and/or. Indoeuropäer or Turkvölker, which understand some researchers also as ethnical units, without a Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl would be to be proven here.
