Etzelwang is a municipality in the district Amberg Sulzbach. It lies in the west of the district. Principal place is the village Etzelwang with its church, which was established between 1721 and 1763.
Etzelwang is member of the central administrative body new churches b.Sulzbach Rosenberg.

history
the place name goes on Etzel, a Nebenform from Heinrich, first mention 1059 as “ezziliuuangen”. Politically the place belonged to boys first to the Pfalz, later to the duchy Sulzbach and then to Bavaria.
