June 1999 the city field mountain and the municipalities Conow, DOL gene, Lichtenberg and Lüttenhagen were dissolved as regional administrative bodies and transferred together into the new municipality Feldberger sea-landscape with seat in field mountain.

Geografie
the municipality is the surface-largest with nearly 200 km ² in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is in the southeast Mecklenburg Vorpommerns, because of the national border to Brandenburg. The municipality of the former city field mountain and the number rake lakes in this area, which lies between the Mecklenburgian sea-plate and the uckermärkischen lakes , refers the name.
