Fernando Meira
Fernándo José there Silva Freitas Meira (* 5. June 1978 in Guimarães, Portugal) is a Portuguese football player.
The defensive Allrounder began its career in its hometown with Vitória Guimarães and received there also its first professional contract. In the season 1998/1999 it was lent at the fiber plastic Felgueiras, returned however already in the subsequent season to Vitória Guimarães and became in the consequence captain of the crew. At the beginning of the season 2000/2001 Meira changed to Benfica Lisbon where it to the captain was likewise promoted. Since January 2002 it stands with the VfB Stuttgart under contract. In March 2006 it extended its originally to 2007 running contract prematurely until 2010.
Meira is married and has two children.
