as Flap (English. strike for; Pl.: Flaps) one designates a consonant , which results from a unique striking movement of the tongue against the articulation place in the phonetics. It is similar to the TAP, only that it contrary to the TAP, with which the tongue point taps directly from the rest position on the articulation place, which moves tongue after the articulation into the rest position (behind the lower teeth).
There are apiko - alveolar and retroflexe Flaps.
