Long-distance matches take place in free waters. Here the ladies between 3 and 6 kilometers and the gentlemen swim between 5 and 8 kilometers. Besides there are still excessive distances like for example 20 kilometers.
With all matches there are also relay matches. In each case 4 sportsmen swim one behind the other a certain distance. So for example 4x100 telex or 4x200 telex.
Matches take place on all levels. So for example national championships, land cups - here the individual Lands of the Federal Republic step against each other on, north and South German championships, as well as German championships for children, young people and open. On international level the high points are the CMAS - Trophy (European Cup of the associations), as well as Europe and world championships.
Fin-swim is olympic recognition, however not in the olympic program intended. To the season high points the World Games belongs.

a highest goal with the swimming technology is to be been always streamlined. In order to reach this, the sportsman tries to stretch its whole body. The arms are stretched forward and the palms are put one on the other. Further the arms on the head are put down. The course of motion is a complete body movement. The body carries out a wavelike movement, whereby the amplitude of this wave is quite small in the torso and becomes larger to the fussspitzen. The movement can best be compared with some Delfins.
