François Louis Cailler
François Louis Cailler (* 11. June 1796 in Vevey; † 6. April 1852 in Corsier sur Vevey) was a Swiss chocolate pioneer and founder of the Schokoladenmanufaktur Cailler.
life
Cailler made teachings in Vevey as a grocer, before it learned the handicraft of the Chocolatiers in Turin. 1818 it returned to Vevey and built machines to the mechanical production of chocolate. 1819 it eröffenete in Corsier sur Vevey the first chocolate factory of Switzerland and produced here as first chocolate in the this very day usual board form. Owing to the machine production those sank up to then expressed high prices on also a level bearable for less rich humans.
Cailler was married with Louise Albertine Perret from Boudry and had with their three children: Augusts and François Alexandre, the late paternal business took over and Fanny Louise, the later woman Swiss of the Chocolatiers Daniel Peter.
