Friedrich Gernsheim

Friedrich Gernsheim (* 17. July 1839 in Worms; † 10. September 1916 in Berlin) was a German pianist, conductor, a composer and a music paedagogue of the late romance.

Friedrich Gernsheim studied 1852 , 1855 in Leipzig starting from - 1860 he was in Paris . Starting from 1865 he was a teacher at the conservatoire in Cologne. It was friendly with Brahms and starting from 1874 in Rotterdam as a director of the society for clay/tone art. it received an appointment to 1890 to the Stern' conservatoire in Berlin.

Gernsheim wrote 4 Symphonien as well as works of the chamber music. One its pupil was Engelbert Humperdinck.
