George book

George book (* 24. September 1903 in Wiesbaden, † 5. August 1995 ebda.) was a politician of the SPD. Book belonged to the condition-advisory state meeting in Hessen , was member and late president of the hessian federal state parliament. From 1960 to 1968 book was mayor of Wiesbaden.

Book visited the people school from 1909 to 1917. Subsequently, it completed a theory from 1917 to 1921 as a Schriftsetzer with printering Carl knight in Wiesbaden. 1919 it already engaged itself unionized in the youth organization of the federation of the German printers. After the theory, interrupted by journey, he worked as printer assistant and a Schriftsetzer, among other things with the Wiesbadener companies knights and Friedmann.

1920 it joined the worker youth federation, 1921 of the SPD. 1928 he became propaganda leader of the subdistrict Wiesbaden of the SPD.

1929 and 1930 he visited the academy of the work to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe university Frankfurt. Afterwards it was 1931 briefly busily with printering Zeidler in Wiesbaden Biebrich.

1933 he became a city delegate and chairman of the SPD in Wiesbaden. Of 14. September up to 28. September 1933 it was in protective custody. Afterwards it earned its living costs with a coffee agency, afterwards with an agency for household articles. Between 1938 and 1940 he was a commercial agent for Holsteiner the food factories. From 1940 to 1941 it was Imprägnierer (Vorabeiter) at the company Karl Büger in Wiesbaden and thus among other things also building leaders within the range air gau west France in La Rochelle.

Between 1941 and 1945 he ruled because of preparation to the high treason in different prisons in investigation and detention and in the concentration camps SS-Sonderlager Hinzert and Saxonia living had interned himself.

From 1945 to 1946 he was a party secretary (managing director) of the SPD Wiesbaden. Starting from 1946 he was a city delegate as well as town councillor (departmental head for nutrition and economics) in Wiesbaden and chairman of the SPD city delegate parliamentary group. Since 1954 he was a mayor and from 1960 to 1968 mayors of Wiesbaden.

1946 was it in addition establishment partner of Frankfurt union printering. Furthermore it was to last presidency member of the Saxonia living committee for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Book was from 1946 to 1950 and from 1954 to 1974 member of the hessian federal state parliament. From 1959 to 1960 it practiced the office of the chairman and from 1960 to 1966 that stellv. Chairman of the SPD faction out. From 1966 to 1974 he was a president of the hessian federal state parliament.

From 1947 to 1954 he was a chairman of the local association and/or. the subdistrict of the SPD Wiesbaden. Was from 1954 to 1962 it stellv. Chairman of the SPD district Hessen south.

Between 1971 and 1980 he dressed the office of the chairman of the Kuratoriums indivisible Germany (Landeskuratorium Hessen). In addition it was appointed 1968 the honour citizen of Wiesbaden.
