Georges Brassens (* 22. October 1921 in Sète, France; † 30. October 1981 in Saint Gély you Fesc) was a French poet and writer, above all however into the 1950-70er years an important Chansonnier (author and interpreter (voc, guit)).

Brassens was the son of a modest building contractor, that from Sète (Dépt. Herault) came. Its nut/mother was a very gläubige and music-loving Neapolitanerin.
